Our Teacher
Barbara Casey was ordained as a teacher (Dharmacharya) by Thich Nhat Hanh in January of 2009. As a co-founder of the Peaceful Refuge Sangha, she offers spiritual guidance through classes, mentoring, and retreats.
She now resides in Washington with her husband, Robert, and dog, Kin. Barbara continues to participate regularly in Peaceful Refuge Sangha events online, and is available for consultation to sangha members from a distance. She also periodically visits her dear friends in Peaceful Refuge Sangha, and leads special events while in Ashland. You may contact her at:
In 2023, Barbara is teaching on the theme, “How Can I Help?” This is the question of a developing bodhisattva on the path of awakening. Each quarter she offers an online teaching, with an in-person Day of Mindfulness on June 4.
